I have been fascinated with the somatics of what is commonly referred to as 'burn out'.
Something inside of us is on fire.
There are alarm bells going off in the nervous system and they likely have been ignored for some time. this is when folks end up in collapse.
The body shuts off in order to protect itself. My car actually reminded me of this recently. The exhaust pipe was plugged by a little rodent that moved in while I was away.
The temperature gauge indicated something was wrong and a mechanical mechanism was in place to protect the engine from being injured due to the obstruction.
This is how I look at burn out.
Unless we fix the root dysfunction, our nervous system will shut certain functions down so that we don't injure our bodies further.
What I want to emphasize is that none of this is our fault. It is actually a brilliant function of our nature. It is this nature that is also being largely influenced by what is going on ecologically.
Ecological collapse is real and it is inviting us into greater awareness of our interrelatedness. @thedirtyalchemy teaches this in depth (check her work out).
The earth is a bountiful provider but our collective extractive practices in relationship to her have put all of humanity into an urgency/collapse feedback loop. We get to choose to walk in a different way.
We will stumble.
We will default into what we think we know.
We will try, try again until our last breath.
